Egmond aan Zee is a cozy family seaside resort on the North Sea, traditionally a rustic fishing village which is clearly reflected in the contemporary image. You can find out more about the past in the Egmonds museum. The sandy beach with many beach pavilions offers everything for sun worshipers and water sports enthusiasts.
Safety is offered, thanks to the KNRM coast guard present and first aid post of the Egmond rescue team (Fridays via the KNRM).
Outside the summer season it is wonderful to walk and get a breath of fresh air along the sea line. The center is rich in nice shops, terraces and restaurants. All the necessities for a pleasant stay in Egmond aan Zee are available here, including the basics such as the supermarket and the bakery. Bicycles and carts can be rented in the center at Bike Shop Egmond.
The bowling alleys are located in Hotel Zuiderduin. The figurehead of this village is the charming lighthouse J.C.J. van Speijck, the iron lion watches over the village. The lighthouse can be visited for a climb of 137 stairs, which gives a spectacular view of the surrounding area in July and August.
On the south side of Egmond on the Churchilllaan is the entrance to the dune area, here you can take a nice walk towards Egmond Binnen and from there walk back over the beach to the village. Along the way you can encounter the wild horse or Scottish Highland herd on the trail. The purchase of a dune (entrance) card is required. The north side has a route to Bergen aan Zee.
